On 18 August 2026, around 05:35 am Muscat time, suspected Iranian forces (coded as IRGC by default) launched an unspecified projectile (coded as a drone) that directly impacted the engine room of the Minoan Dignity bulk carrier (IMO: 9294484) as it was transiting around 5 nm off the coast of Oman (coded to Coast of Khasab) (Musandam). The attack killed the vessel's chief engineer. Two helicopter attempts to evacuate the crew were unsuccessful. The Omani Coast Guard assisted in rescuing the remaining crew. 1 fatality.
