On 21 August 2021, in Htone Kyaing village, Myaung township (Sagaing district, Sagaing region), the military entered the village and fired indiscriminately with heavy and small arms. About a thousand villagers from 200 households from Bonekaung and Htonekyaing villages were forced to flee.
