Undefined Explosive Device (UED) event in Narathiwat, Ra-ngae, Bongor Subdistrict area, Thailand on Sat 22nd August 2026

A group of assailants attacked a local administrative office in Ra-ngae district of Narathiwat province this evening before setting it on fire while a series of bombings were reported in several locations in the southern province.

Local authorities reported that the attack on Bongor Subdistrict Administrative Organization building took place at around 8 pm during which around 30 assailants tied up security guards before setting fire to the building.

The attackers also fled with a pick-up truck seized from the office before it was found burnt and abandoned.

Bombing incidents were also reported in several areas in the province which has seen a surge in violence in the past several weeks. There were no immediate reports of casualties.

Responding to the incidents, authorities imposed a curfew covering all areas in Narathiwat effective until 6.00 am of August 23.
