Two religious scholars, Maulana Abdullah and Maulana Samad, were injured when unidentified attackers opened fire on them along Sheikhan Road in Kohat District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), reports Khyber Chronicles reports on August 8. The scholars were returning to their village after attending a religious gathering when the attack occurred. Both were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack. Local sources suggested possible involvement of Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP), which has previously targeted religious scholars, particularly those associated with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F). Further investigation is underway
