Undefined Explosive Device (UED) event in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Peshawar area, Pakistan on Thu 6th August 2026

A major terror plot was foiled in Peshawar, the provincial capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, after Police recovered explosive material concealed inside the tyres of a Suzuki vehicle during an intelligence based operation on August 6, reports The Khyber Chronicles. According to preliminary information, Police acting on a credible tip-off intercepted the vehicle on New Rampura Road within the jurisdiction of Hashtnagri Police Station. A Police team swiftly cordoned off the area and detained the occupants before conducting a thorough search of the vehicle. Officials from the Bomb Disposal Unit were immediately called to the scene after officers suspected the presence of explosive material. During a detailed examination, the bomb disposal team recovered explosives expertly concealed inside the vehicle’s tyres, indicating an apparent attempt to transport the material without attracting attention.
