On August 6, two rusted mortar shells were recovered and destroyed by the Army in the Choki Sagra area of the Mendhar Sub-Division in Mankote Sector of Poonch District along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), reports Daily Excelsior. Officials confirmed that no casualties or damage to property were reported during the operation. The shells are believed to be remnants of past cross-border shelling in the LoC area.
