IED event in Jammu and Kashmir, Draba, Poonch District area, India on Sat 15th August 2026

On August 15, Security Forces (SFs) neutralised a terror hideout and recovered six Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), one Motorola wireless set and seven AK-47 rounds in Draba, Surankote, Poonch District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), reports Daily Excelsior andSocialNews.XYZ. No arrests were made. The recoveries included one gamla-type IED, one gool-type IED, four small IEDs, one Motorola wireless set and seven AK-47 rounds. Search operations were continuing. The recovery of the explosives reportedly averted a possible major attack. The operation forms part of continuing counter-terrorism efforts in Poonch and neighbouring Rajouri districts, where security forces have previously recovered IEDs, grenades, AK-series rifles and ammunition from suspected terrorist hideouts.
