On August 14, three Fitna-al-Khawarij [FaK, a State term for Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP)] terrorists were killed and several others injured and six Police personnel were injured during an Intelligence-Based Operation (IBO) supervised by Bannu Regional Police Officer Rab Nawaz Khan and District Police Officer Captain (retd.) Muhammad Furqan Bilal in the areas of Sparka, Saidwan and Akbar Ali Khan Kalay, within the limits of Domel Police Station (PS) in Bannu District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), reports The Khyber Chronicles. Additionally, a Kalashnikov, two hand grenades and three magazines were recovered from their possession. According to Police officials, a heavy exchange of fire took place between law enforcement personnel and the terrorists during the operation, in which three terrorists were killed, and the identities of those killed are still being ascertained.
