SAA event in Manipur, Langka Naga, Kangpokpi District area, India on Fri 14th August 2026

On August 14, two Naga civilians were killed and two others injured after suspected Kuki National Front-Presidential faction (KNF-P) cadres opened fire on farmers at Langka Naga village in Kangpokpi District, Manipur, reports Northeast Now. The attack occurred while villagers were engaged in agricultural work. The deceased were identified as Wiriliangbou Chawang (35) and Kawidinang Abonmai (54). Maliangjinang Abonmai (50) and Namthiulungbou Prinmai (45) sustained bullet injuries and were airlifted by the Indian Army from Haochong to the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, for treatment. The Liangmai Naga Council announced an emergency shutdown in Liangmai-inhabited areas. Security Forces (SFs) have been deployed in the area.
