On August 13, a man named SM Ariful Islam (30) was injured in a shootout with Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) Police in Aftabnagar, Badda, in Dhaka, and later arrested with a pistol and three bullets, reports Prothom Alo. Inspector Md. Anwar Hossain of the Gulshan division of the DB stated that the operation was conducted at around 8:45 pm based on a secret tip-off that a group of armed robbers were preparing to commit a robbery in the Eastern Housing area of ??Aftabnagar. The process of filing a case against Islam at Badda Police Station in this incident is underway.
