On August 12, a pressure cooker wrapped in black tape and found in an open field beside a mosque in Savar in Dhaka was identified as a powerful bomb and later defused, reports The Daily Star. Bomb Disposal Unit reached the scene at around 1:45 pm and ordered the evacuation of the entire area. The device was defused at around 3:28 pm. A loud blast shook the area as the bomb was neutralised, triggering panic among residents. According to Police, local residents had earlier found the pressure cooker inside a blue plastic drum at the field of Laltek Ghora Mosque on August 11, 2026. Residents subsequently removed the pressure cooker from the drum and placed it on the field. Savar Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Nur Mohammad said, It was a very powerful bomb.
