Grenade event in Manipur, Wabagai Turenmamei, Kakching District area, India on Tue 11th August 2026

On August 11, Security Forces (SFs) recovered a cache of arms, ammunition and military equipment during a search operation at Wabagai Turenmamei under Hiyanglam Police Station (PS), Kakching District, Manipur, reports Manipur Police on X. The recovery included one .303 rifle with an empty magazine, one 9mm pistol with an empty magazine, three single-barrel guns, three carbines with empty magazines, one 51mm mortar bomb, three tube-launching devices, two hand grenades and 18 live rounds of ammunition of different calibres. SFs also recovered one INSAS rifle bayonet and military fatigues, including bulletproof (BP) plates and covers, communication sets and other miscellaneous items. No arrests were reported in connection with the recovery.
