SAA event in Badakhshan, Qughuz, Nusay District area, Afghanistan on Tue 11th August 2026

Taliban fighters shot a civilian named Mustafa in the village of Qughuz in Nusay District of Badakhshan Province, Hasht-e Subh reports on August 11. Following this, clashes between Taliban and anti-Taliban forces and fighters led by Juma Khan Fateh began. The fighting is currently continuing in the village of Zaghar, near the birthplace of Juma Khan Fateh. Taliban have increased the number of their forces in Badakhshan following a rise in attacks by opposition fronts in the province. Taliban had previously established a security outpost in Warsaj District, in the Waghan area and the upper part of the area, with 12 Taliban fighters stationed there. The number has now increased to more than 300.|On August 11, in Faizabad, the capital of Badakhshan Province, sound of light and heavy gunfire was heard, reports Hasht-e Subh. According to the sources, the number of casualties and the extent of damage caused by the incident have not yet been determined. No group has so far claimed responsibility for the shooting.
