SAA event in Jharkhand, Dalma Forests, Seraikela-Kharsawan District area, India on Mon 10th August 2026

On August 10, Security Forces (SFs) recovered a cache of arms, ammunition and explosives from the Dalma Forests in Seraikela-Kharsawan District, Jharkhand, following disclosures by three arrested Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres, reports Times of India. The operation was conducted in the Sikarmba Forest under Kuchai Police Station and the Dalma Hills above Asanbani under Chandil Police Station. The three arrested cadres—'Regional Committee Member (RCM)’ Madan Mahto Charan alias Shankar Mahto, ‘Sub-Zonal Committee Member (SZCM)’ Ravi Singh Sardar alias Sagar, and ‘Sub-Zonal Commander (SZC)’ Meena Pahariya alias Nepu—were arrested on August 5 and allegedly revealed the locations of concealed arms dumps during interrogation. The recoveries included a 5.56mm Indian Small Arms System (INSAS) assault rifle with four magazines, a 7.62mm Self-Loading Rifle (SLR) with three magazines, two .303 rifles, three magazines, eight chargers, and two country-made pistols, including a 9mm pistol with two magazines. SFs also recovered 309 rounds of ammunition, comprising 171 rounds of 7.62mm, 126 rounds of 5.56mm and 12 rounds of 9mm. A Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) destroyed an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) and two detonators. Superintendent of Police (SP) Manoj Swargiary led the operation.
