SAA event in Narsingdi District, Palash Sub-District, Narsingdi District area, Bangladesh on Mon 10th August 2026

On August 10, Chhatra Dal (affiliated with Bangladesh Nationalist Party) leader Ibrahim Masum (36), who was shot in a clash between two Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) factions in Palash Upazila (Sub-District) of Narsingdi District, died, reports Prothom Alo. Ibrahim was injured in the attack on the night of August 1, 2026 and died 9 days after the incident. Ibrahim's brother-in-law, Mohammad Mohsin, filed a case with Palash Police Station on the night of August 4, 2026. According to Police, there had been a long-standing dispute between two factions of the local BNP in Danga Union over dominance and sand trade. One faction was led by Union Volunteer Dal President Mamun Ahmed, General Secretary Joynal Abedin and Chhatra Dal leader Ibrahim Masum. The other faction was led by former Union BNP General Secretary Roman Mia.
