IED event in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, South Waziristan District area, Pakistan on Sat 25th July 2026

On July 25, Security Forces (SFs) foiled a suicide attack on a checkpost and killed four terrorists, including three Fitna Al-Khawarij (FAK), also referred to as Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP),terrorists and a suicide bomber, in South Waziristan District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reported Dawn and Khyber Chronicles. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), terrorists attempted to ram an explosives-laden vehicle into a security forces checkpost but were engaged and neutralised. The suicide bomber was killed when the vehicle was destroyed outside the checkpost perimeter. Three other terrorists were later killed during a clearance operation after they entered a nearby compound. No SF personnel were reported killed. A sanitisation operation was conducted in the area under the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign, Azm-i-Istehkam. According to the Annual Security Report 2025 by the Centre for Research and Security Studies (CRSS), KP recorded a rise in violence, with fatalities increasing from 1,620 in 2024 to 2,331 in 2025.
