On August 20, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered six pistols, seven magazines and 22 rounds of ammunition from Satchari Reserve Forest in a remote, hilly and densely forested area in Habiganj District, reports The Daily Star. According to the BGB, the weapons and ammunition were found buried underground about three kilometres inside Bangladesh from border pillar No. 1978. BGB stated that criminals had likely hidden the weapons there for use in robberies and other criminal activities. Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Tanzilur Rahman stated that efforts were underway to identify and arrest those involved.
