The Quetta-bound Jaffar Express narrowly escapes bomb blast as railway track damaged near Somra branch, close to Abdullah Lashari village within the jurisdiction of Saddar Police Station in Jacobabad District of Sindh on August 19, reports The Khyber Chronicles. The train, travelling from Peshawar to Quetta, was approaching Jacobabad when an explosive device planted on the railway track detonated. The blast damaged the railway track but occurred before the arrival of the Jaffar Express. Following the explosion, authorities immediately suspended the trains onward journey towards Quetta. The Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) claimed responsibility for the blast.
