SAA event in Manipur, Keishampat Leimajam Leikai, Imphal West District area, India on Tue 18th August 2026

On August 18, Security Forces (SFs) arrested an active cadre of the People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK), identified as Ningthoujam Deban Meetei (55) alias Lucky, during a search operation in the Keishampat Leimajam Leikai area under Imphal Police Station, Imphal West District, reports Manipur Police on X. Deban was allegedly involved in supplying arms and explosive substances and was arrested with a .32 pistol and two magazines. In a follow-up operation, his alleged accomplice, Khaidem Gandhi Meitei (39), was arrested from his residence in Sagolband Moirang Leirak in Imphal West District. A double-barrel gun and 45 rounds of assorted ammunition were recovered from Gandhi.
