Unidentified assailants hurled two hand grenades at a residence on Sri Gnanendra Road in Ratmalana, Colombo District, Western Province, reports Ada Derana on August 5. One of the grenades exploded, while the other failed to detonate. No injuries or fatalities were reported in the incident. Closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage reportedly captured two suspects fleeing the scene immediately after the attack. Police have launched an investigation to identify the perpetrators and ascertain the motive behind the grenade attack.
