SAA event in Chhattisgarh, Bhejji, Sukma District area, India on Mon 3rd August 2026

On August 3, Security Forces (SFs) recovered an arms and ammunition dump belonging to the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) during a joint search operation in the Bodhrajpadar Forest under the Bhejji Police Station limits in Sukma District, Chhattisgarh, reports ETV Bharat. Acting on specific intelligence inputs, a joint team of the Central Reserve Police Force's (CRPF) 50th Battalion and the Bhejji Police launched the operation from the Forward Operating Base (FOB) at Elarmadgu. During a search approximately 2.8 kilometres from the camp, the SFs unearthed an underground Maoist dump containing one .315 bore bolt-action rifle, 47 live 7.62×39 mm cartridges, two live 7.62×51 mm cartridges, and one aluminium container. The operation was conducted under the supervision of Deputy Inspector General (Operations), Konta, Rajesh Pandey, and Commandant Premjit Kumar of the CRPF's 50th Battalion, while anti-Maoist operations in the District are being carried out under the direction of Superintendent of Police (SP) Mayank Gurjar and the guidance of Additional SP (Operations) Rohit Shah. Police stated that intelligence-based anti-Maoist operations would continue across the District to locate hidden arms caches and dismantle the remaining infrastructure of the banned outfit.
