On August 3, a rusted unexploded mortar shell was recovered and safely destroyed by the Army's Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) in Poonch District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), reports Daily Excelsior. The first shell was found in an open field near Chajjla Bridge in the Mankote area after villagers alerted Police and Security Forces (SFs). The area was secured before the Army's BDS destroyed the explosive in a controlled explosion following standard safety procedures.|On August 3, an unexploded mortar shell was recovered from agricultural fields in Adhaki village near Mendhar Nallah area in Poonch District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), reports Daily Excelsior. Officials stated that the unexploded ordnance was believed to be a remnant of past cross-border shelling along the Line of Control (LoC).
