SAA event in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Boya, North Waziristan area, Pakistan on Sun 2nd August 2026

Unidentified terrorists opened fire on the convoy of North Waziristan's Deputy Commissioner Taimur Khan Afridi and District Police Officer (DPO) Sajjad Hussain on August 2, but both senior officers and their accompanying personnel escaped unhurt with no loss of life or property, reports The Express Tribune. According to Police, the two officials were touring Boya tehsil (revenue unit) during the District-wide curfew to assess the overall situation. They also visited the proposed site for a new Police Station in Boya and directed relevant authorities to complete preliminary arrangements to strengthen the police presence in the area. The officials then set out for the Government chromite factory in Muhammad Khel, also in Boya tehsil. On the way, gunmen lying in wait suddenly opened fire on their convoy. Security personnel immediately took protective measures, foiling the attackers' designs. No one was injured and no damage was reported.
