A video circulating online purportedly shows two motorcycle-borne assailants hurling a hand grenade at the Urban Area Police post in Batala, Gurdaspur District, on the night of August 1, reports The Tribune. In the video, one of the attackers is heard saying, "The administration has bothered us a lot. It is time for us to give them a gift," before the grenade is thrown. Senior Police officials did not comment on the incident. According to reports, authorities quickly repaired the damage and repainted the Police post, apparently to minimise the visible impact of the attack
