On July 30, the home of Fasihuddin Fitrat, Taliban’s Army Chief of staff, was attacked in Istrap village in Wurduj District of Badakhshan Province, reports Afghanistan International. It is unclear whether he was there at the time. Unidentified gunmen opened fire on Fitrat’s home from a nearby mountain overlooking the property. The attackers used light and heavy weapons, including PK machine guns. No casualties or damage have been reported, and no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
