SAA event in Chittagong, Balukhali Refugee Camp, Cox\'s Bazar District area, Bangladesh on Wed 29th July 2026

On July 29, a cadre of Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) identified as Mohammad Zubayer (34) was killed in a shooting at the Balukhali refugee camp (Camp-8 West) in Ukhiya Upazila (Sub-District) refugee camp in Cox's Bazar District, reports Prothom Alo. Police claimed that Rohingya Solidarity Organization (RSO) is involved in the killing. Additional DIG Mohammad Siraj Amin, commander of the 14th Armed Police Battalion (APBN), which is responsible for security at the refugee camp, confirmed the incident and said, "Md. Zubair was attacked on his way to the mosque. Rohingya terrorists fired five bullets at him and fled. Initial investigation revealed that members of the armed group RSO opened fire due to internal conflict and past enmity. An operation is underway at the refugee camp to arrest the terrorists."
