Police on July 27 arrested three alleged assailants recovered two pistols and empty bullet casings following a brief encounter in connection with the July 25 attack on two Anti-Narcotics Cell personnel on Landran-Banur Road, from Sector 83, Mohali, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar District, reports The Tribune. According to police, Jaskaran Singh and Lakhwinder Singh sustained bullet injuries to their legs during the exchange of fire, while their accomplice, Gagan, surrendered. Mohali Superintendent of Police (SSP) Harmandeep Singh Hans said two other accomplices had already surrendered, taking the total number of accused in custody to five. The accused are alleged to have opened fire on and attacked two police personnel with swords while fleeing after being intercepted during an anti-drug operation on July 25.
