Russian forces launched guided bombs strikes on Izyum, wounding two people and damaging at least 20 buildings, cars, and power lines.
This was reported by the Izium City Council on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.
“Today, August 23, 2026, at approximately 4:05 a.m., Russian troops struck the city of Izium. According to preliminary information, the enemy used three guided aerial bombs (KAB),” the statement reads.
One strike was recorded in the northern part of the city. As a result of the enemy shelling, about 10 private residential buildings were damaged.
Two more strikes were recorded in the Verkhnye Selyshche area. The shelling caused a fire in a farm building covering an area of about 20 square meters and damaged about 10 private residential buildings.
In total, approximately 20 private residential buildings, vehicles, and power lines were damaged as a result of the enemy shelling.
Currently, two people are known to have been injured; they are receiving medical care.
As previously reported, a Russian drone struck a private home in Kharkiv, injuring four people.
