A tollbooth under construction was destroyed with explosives early Saturday morning in the Mondomo sector of the Pan-American Highway, between Popayán and Cali, Colombia, one day after Abelardo de la Espriella was sworn in as president. The attack occurred in the early morning hours. According to reports, an unidentified group of people arrived in the Mondomo sector of the Cauca department early Saturday morning and planted explosives that were subsequently detonated against the highway infrastructure.
