SAA event in Mexico on Thu 30th July 2026

An armed attack early Wednesday morning left four people dead, including a 15-year-old boy and two public officials, after a group of gunmen forced their way into a home on Solidaridad Street in the Morelos neighborhood of Valle de Santiago, Guanajuato. Around 4:30 a.m., gunmen violently stormed the house and opened fire on the family as they slept. Julio Raúl, approximately 60 years old, and his 25-year-old son, Yael, both employees of the state delegation of the Ministry of Welfare, were killed at the scene. The death of Isaac, a 15-year-old boy, was also confirmed at the scene. A 60-year-old woman was seriously injured and taken to the Bicentennial Hospital, where she died hours later. A 17-year-old girl escaped the attack unharmed and alerted emergency services. Security personnel and paramedics arrived at the scene to provide assistance for a nervous breakdown, while agents from the Guanajuato State Attorney General's Office cordoned off the area to begin their investigation. Although the incident was confirmed by the regional Security Council, the Attorney General's Office failed to report this quadruple homicide in its official report.
