On Sunday afternoon, members of the National Guard seized an armored vehicle and various high-powered weapons on kilometer 83 of the Tepatitlán de Morelos–San Juan de los Lagos highway, near the municipality of San Miguel el Alto, Jalisco, after repelling an armed attack. According to official reports, the incident involved a confrontation between gunmen and federal agents at the San Miguel el Alto intersection. Following the shootout, the attackers abandoned the vehicle on the road and fled on foot toward nearby areas. It was also reported that they blocked the road with a stolen car, which they then set on fire.
