In Ye-U Township, Sagaing Region, on the morning of August 17 at around 8:00 AM, soldiers stationed at the Kyar Hpoo Roundabout checkpoint at the entrance to Ye-U Town shot at two men riding a motorcycle from the direction of Sae Gyi Village, claiming they had taken a wrong turn into the area.

During the shooting, a civilian riding on the back of the motorcycle was hit by gunfire and died on the spot. Information regarding the deceased's name and address is still being investigated.
