On August 15 at around 5:30 AM, joint forces under the command of Strategy 22 of Bago Regional Headquarters, Southern Military Region People's Defense Force (PDF)—including Tharrawaddy District Battalion 3802 (Company 2 and Company 3), Tharrawaddy District People's Defense Organization (PaKaPha), Shwe Tan Myae Letpadan Township PaKaPha, and Tharrawaddy Galon People's Defense Force—launched an attack on the Htan Pin Chaung Village inspection checkpoint.
During the battle, both sides exchanged heavy and light weapons fire for nearly an hour before all junta soldiers stationed at the checkpoint abandoned their post and fled.
Revolutionary forces then entered and cleared the inspection gate, capturing the site, according to the group.
