Air Delivered event in Talahandak area, Mali on Wed 19th August 2026

MALI 🇲🇱 | The JNIM has released a message on its propaganda network denouncing, according to them, the abuses by the FAMa and the Africa Corps in Tombonkouri (Bandiagara), which occurred yesterday, Wednesday, August 19.

🔶 According to them, in the morning, "the government authorities, with the help of their Russian ally," would have committed "horrific violations […] against a group of unarmed civilians," following a deliberate attack on the weekly market in the village of Tombonkouri."

🔴 This attack would have resulted in 3 deaths and 12 injuries, some of whom are in critical condition. Most of the victims would be sheikhs and elderly people.

🔹 At the end of its statement, the JNIM offers its condolences to the victims and wishes recovery to the injured.

⚠️ This communication, like others before it, aims to implicate the FAMa and their Russian allies in violence targeting civilians in northern Mali, which the group presents as intentional.

ℹ️ On the same day, the Talahandak health center, on the Algerian border, was destroyed during airstrikes attributed to the FAMa and the Africa Corps. Strikes had also targeted the Tinzaouatene area earlier in the month.
