A clash along the Thayet–Mindon road in Thayet Township, Magway Region, left 9 soldiers dead, Ko Myat, information officer for Thayet District Battalion 4, told Khit Thit Media.

Today, August 12, around 1:00 PM, an infantry column of approximately 35 junta soldiers departing Mindon to clear the Thayet–Mindon road was ambushed by People's Defense Force members near Pazin Dar village in Thayet Township. Resistance forces seized the initiative, detonating landmines and opening fire.

The firefight lasted about 30 minutes, resulting in the deaths of 9 junta soldiers. Following the clash, remaining junta forces entered nearby villages and reinforced their troop numbers in the area.
