Starting in the afternoon of August 11, heavy fighting broke out near Shwe Myin Tin Pagoda Hill in Nyaung Ni village, Momeik Township, between the violent military forces and local revolutionary units operating in the area.
The clash concluded in the evening, with residents in Momeik town reporting sounds of heavy artillery and small arms fire. Furthermore, the military deployed two aircraft to launch airstrikes during the battle.
The military's aerial bombing injured one monk at the Nyaung Ni village monastery, and the entire village has currently fled to safe areas.
