On August 18, 2026, an altercation occurred involving an exchange of gunfire between citizens (M.K.) and (A.Sh.), resulting in the death of the latter in the Abi Samra area – Tripoli, due to prior disputes. Immediately, units from the army carried out a series of raids in the Al-Damm and Al-Fars area to arrest the shooter (M.K.), and seized weapons and military ammunition. In parallel, and as a result of security follow-up and pursuit, the location of the shooter was identified near the Lebanese-Syrian border in the Al-Abbudiyya area - Akkar, where an army unit cordoned off the site and arrested the shooter. Additionally, the Syrians (M.A.) and (F.A.) were arrested for attempting to help him flee to Syrian territory. The seized items were handed over, and an investigation was initiated with the detainees under the supervision of the competent judiciary.
