IED event in Colombia on Thu 13th August 2026

In the development of the sustained offensive underway in the department of #Antioquia, soldiers from the No. 7 Rapid Deployment Force of @COL_EJERCITO, through military intelligence operations, located an illegal depot that would apparently belong to the residual armed group organized Estructura 36 of the Farc, in the La Palestina vereda of the Briceño municipality.

At the site, 14 improvised explosive devices with pressure activation method were found and destroyed in a controlled manner, 200 meters of detonating cord, 13 electric detonators, four voltage detonators, one jar of mercury, two jars of PVC glue, and 10 syringes. With this result, the National Army decisively impacts the capacity of this armed structure to employ explosive devices against the civilian population and the troops. Thus, we continue working for the security of the communities and the protection of those who fulfill the constitutional mission in this area of the country.
