SAA event in Mexico on Tue 18th August 2026

Residents of the San Francisco neighborhood in Florencio Varela set fire to a house suspected of being a drug distribution point after the shooting deaths of two young men. Moments of extreme tension erupted in the area following the killings of 28-year-old Ariel Machi and 23-year-old Franco Javier Herrera. Neighbors claimed the victims were not involved in drug dealing and may have been targeted by mistake. The leading theory is that the gunmen were searching for someone else linked to the alleged drug den nearby. The attack unfolded when a gray Volkswagen Suran pulled up in front of a house and shots were fired from the vehicle. In addition to the two fatalities, 25-year-old Sebastián Ortiz was seriously wounded and remains hospitalized.
