Apatzingán, Michoacán. In citizen security operations focused on the protection of assets and the preservation of public order, the Secretariat of National Defense, the National Guard, and the State of Michoacán's Secretariat of Public Security seized three assault rifles, 1,340 rounds of ammunition, 38 magazines, and various tactical equipment in the locality of El Tesorero. The institutional action also enabled the recovery of a pickup truck and a motorcycle that had active theft reports. Residents of the area spoke directly with our outlet about what happened and the circumstances surrounding the intervention, allowing their accounts to be distinguished from the evidence verified by investigative personnel. The safeguarding of these items aims to neutralize the operational capacity of criminal cells vying for territorial control in Michoacán's Tierra Caliente region. All the weaponry and recovered vehicles were placed under institutional custody for the compilation of the corresponding investigation file.
