Ten killed and 18 injured in Russian missile attack on Kharkiv Oblast – photos.

Ten people were killed when Russian forces struck the village of Pechenihy in Kharkiv Oblast with a missile on the morning of 18 August.

Details: Early reports indicated that 10 people had been killed and eight more injured.

As of 10:47, according to Syniehubov, the number of people injured has risen to 17. Medical teams and other emergency services are working at the scene.

According to the oblast military administration, the strike also damaged 10 houses, a café, a post office, a shop and at least seven vehicles. Emergency services are working at the scene.

Update: As of 12:20, ten people are known to have been killed and at least 18 injured.

The attack caused a café and seven cars to catch fire over an area of approximately 400 sq m. The fire has been extinguished.

Severe damage was caused to ten houses, a post office's premises, five shops and 15 cars.

Medics are providing those injured with the necessary medical treatment. Syniehubov added that emergency workers are continuing to clear rubble from damaged buildings. Emergency services are checking the surrounding area to see if anyone else needs help.

Pechenihy Village Head Oleksandr Husarov said that 18 and 19 August would be declared days of mourning in the Pechenihy hromada. [A hromada is an administrative unit designating a village, several villages, or a town, and their adjacent territories – ed.]
