Other MoA event in Mambasa area, Congo, the Democratic Republic of the on Thu 13th August 2026

An attack attributed to fighters from the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) left three people dead and one injured on Thursday 13 August 2026 in the Matumba area, situated between Biamu and Moluka, in the Mambasa territory of Ituri. ‎

‎According to reports from APDEF Mambasa, the attackers arrived at around 4 am before turning on the civilian population. Several people are also reported missing. ‎

‎However, the death toll could rise, according to the same sources, whilst further information is still awaited to determine the exact scale of the attack. ‎

‎In light of this situation, Ram’s Malikidogo, territorial coordinator of APDEF Mambasa, is calling on the residents of Mingazi, Muzaimbwa, Mabakuha, Amani, Biamu and Mabuho to remain on high alert. ‎ ‎

He states that the threat remains active, as the attackers were not tracked after passing through Matumba. He therefore urges the public to exercise extreme caution and to report any suspicious activity to the relevant authorities. ‎ ‎

This attack has reignited concerns about the security situation in several areas of Mambasa, which are regularly subjected to incursions attributed to the ADF. ‎ ‎

The security authorities have not yet released an official report on this attack.
