Burkina Faso 🇧🇫 | On August 17, JNIM claimed responsibility for a targeted attack against fighters of the Islamic State in the Sahel (EIS) in Oudalan Province, near the Three Borders area (🇳🇪🇲🇱🇧🇫), specifically in the localities of Bangao and Dorkoye.

➡️ These fighters are designated as "khawarij," referring to the first politico-religious dissidence within Islam in the 7th century.

🔴 Several EIS fighters were reportedly killed, including the commander Abou Zeid Al-Burkinabi, known as the emir of the Islamic State in Burkina Faso (📷 below).
