On 25 August 2021, an IED by an unknown group exploded at the south-eastern side of Waajid airstrip in Waajid town (Waajid, Bakool). A chartered FGS cargo plane (transporting SNA supplies) and SNA forces were on the runway when the explosion occurred. No fatalities and/or injuries reported.
