On 27 August 2021, PKK militants carried out a remote explosive attack targeting a Turkish military vehicle in Sehid Kendal area (Kurdish name) in Haftanin region of Duhok. HPG (PKK) reported that at least 3 soldiers were killed and 4 soldiers were injured in the attack.
