On 8 August 2026, in Ta Laing Taung village (Ann township, Kyaukpyu district, Rakhine state), the Myanmar military conducted an airstrike with a jet fighter and dropped two bombs on a local auto repair workshop at around 9:30 pm. The airstrike killed a 67-year-old woman who is the mother of workshop owner and a 23-year-old workshop employee. The airstrike also injured a daughter, a wife of the owner and another male employee, and destroyed five vehicles parked inside the workshop. 2 fatalities.
