On 11 August 2026, an IED detonated against a Humvee belonging to the 11th Division 44th Brigade 1st Regiment of the army during a search operation in Shay Valley near Rukhana area (coded as Shay Valley, Kirkuk), following earlier airstrikes by the Iraqi army in the area. Three soldiers including 2 officers were injured. Security forces opened an investigation. 3 injured. There were no fatalities.
