On 8 August 2026, in Cachimbal (Cauca), suspected EMC FARC dissidents detonated explosive devices at the Mondomo toll on the Panamericana highway km 60, Popayan - Cali route, severely damaging the infrastructure. The attack took place in the early morning and the toll was under construction. Although the perpetrators and motives behind the attack are unknown, the area is known for the presence of FARC dissidents. There were no casualties.
