Grenade event in Lebanon on Sun 16th August 2026

An army unit in the city of Tyre, as a result of security surveillance and follow-up operations, arrested the citizen (M.B.) for forming a gang with others to traffic in military weapons, in addition to fabricating disturbances, and follow-up is underway to arrest the remaining members of the gang. Another unit also raided the homes of wanted individuals in the town of Dar Al-Waasa – Baalbek, for the crime of drug trafficking, and seized a quantity of drugs along with machines for manufacturing them. Likewise, an army unit at the Safri checkpoint – Baalbek arrested the citizens (D.D.) and (D.R.D.) for possessing a quantity of hashish and military weapons and ammunition. Another unit raided the homes of wanted individuals in the Tabana area - Tripoli, and arrested the citizen (S.A.) for possessing a number of hand grenades, and seized them. The seized items were handed over, and investigation has begun with the detainees under the supervision of the competent judiciary.
