Ukraine reports strike on Russian rocket fuel plant, petrochemical facility shuts down after earlier strikes.

Ukraine's defence forces struck the Kamensky Combine, a solid rocket fuel plant in Russia's Rostov Oblast, located near the Ukrainian border, on the night of 15-16 August. The General Staff has also reported on the effects of previous strikes on petrochemical plants in Tyumen Oblast, more than 2,000 km (1,240 miles) from the border, and Orenburg Oblast, approximately 1,500 km (930 miles) away.

Details: A fire was reported following the nighttime strike on the Kamensky Combine in Kamensk-Shakhtinsky.

The General Staff said the plant produces solid rocket fuel for the Uragan, Smerch, and Tornado-S multiple-launch rocket systems and other missile systems and airborne weapons.

The Ukrainian military also said that operations ceased at the Zapsibneftekhim plant in Tobolsk, Tyumen Oblast, one of Russia's largest petrochemical complexes, following the 10 August strike on Central Gas Fractionation Unit No. 1.

The General Staff also confirmed that several units at the Orsknefteorgsintez, a medium-sized oil refinery in the city of Orsk in Russia's Orenburg Oblast, had been hit on 11 August: a hydrocracking unit, three primary crude oil processing units and a secondary distillation unit for light petroleum fractions.

The refinery produces petrol, diesel, aviation fuel, fuel oil and other petroleum products used to supply Russian troops and the military-industrial complex, according to the General Staff.

Background: On the night of 15-16 August, Ukraine's defence forces struck a concentration area of a Russian missile unit in occupied Crimea, a railway bridge in Zaporizhzhia Oblast and military warehouses in Donetsk Oblast.
